When traveling through France, I walked into a small vintage shop where the ceiling was covered in sparkling chandeliers. Being surrounded by all the gems and trinkets of the store, and seeing the way the light danced across all the glass gave me such a pure sense of wonder, I felt like a child pretending to be a princess. It is a funny thing, to feel this way in a small store after exploring many historical castles throughout Europe, but I think it was the closeness of it all; the knowledge that it would be possible for me to take one of these glittering decorations home with me, and bring that fantasy a little closer to reality. 

So much of my Mediterranean Summer series is about just that - learning to bring that sense of wonder that I’ve gained through travel, home with me. To be mindful, and to take joy in the small details that surround me in my everyday life. Now, under the dim, warm glow of my bedside lamp, I can find just as much joy as I would under a chandelier.
